GvW Graf von Westphalen advises insurtech-startup Penseo in financing round
The German startup company Penseo has successfully completed a seed financing round under the lead of Hanover Beteiligungsfonds, Portuguese Banco de Investimento Global as well as renowned business angels including Oliver Oster and Kilian Thalhammer.
Penseo GmbH with offices in Hamburg, Dusseldorf and Hanover has developed a unique online system to digitalise company care systems, such as company pension scheme, occupational disability and health insurance.
Hannover Beteiligungsfonds is one of two regional funds of hannoverimpuls GmbH, the business development council of the state capital and region of Hanover.
Banco de Investimento Global, S.A. (BiG) is a privately held Portuguese financial institution and is licensed to operate in all business areas of the banking sector in Portugal.
Kilian Thalhammer is an advisor and investor in Munich who has been active for more than 15 years in the areas of Payment / FinTech / eCommerce & Loyalty. Further business angels of Penseo GmbH include digital expert Arnulf Keese, marketing specialist Marc-Norman Pfuhl, both OptioPay founders, Oliver Oster and Marcus Börner, as well as founder and manging director of FinCompare GmbH, Stephan Heller.
In the future, startup company Penseo would also like concentrate on B2B business and develop digital solutions for multipliers, such as banks, brokers and insurers, to deal with company care systems.
Under the lead of Hamburg based partner Dr. Ritesh Rajani, Penseo GmbH was advised in the financing round by a team consisting of associated partner Felix Wolf (Munich) and associate Laurens Klinkert (Hamburg; all Corporate/M&A, VC).

Federal Administrative Court: Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link may be built
The Federal Administrative Court has dismissed all six pending appeals against the planning decision on the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link. Construction of the tunnel may therefore now also begin in Germany. Transport System Bögl: new local public passenger transport system a big success in China
The Max Bögl group of companies has developed a new local public passenger transport system. The system called “Transport System Bögl” (TSB) uses magnetic levitation, or “maglev” technology and provides a clean and cost-efficient means of transport for better mobility in inner city areas. The technology is becoming increasingly popular also in other countries: Max Bögl’s most recent export order was the sale of its TSB to China. The company’s plans include building a 3.5 km test track in Chengdu and extensive marketing activities to promote the technology in China – all through a sales partnership with a Chinese company.
